Study: Green-Certified Homes Sell for More

A rigorous study, released today by Build It Green and funded by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), shows that green-certified homes in California bring a higher sales price, even though market barriers often prevent the full value of the home’s green features from being recognized.

June Regional Forum: Innovative Approaches to Improving Energy Code Compliance

Join us to learn about several new strategies and tools for energy code compliance. Presentations will include a broad perspective of common energy code compliance challenges faced by local governments, followed by case studies and information on several innovative approaches, including electronic tools for residential and commercial projects and in-person assistance for local governments. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions.

Zero Net Energy Technical Assistance for Municipal Buildings is Available Again in 2018

In 2018, BayREN will continue to provide engineering analysis to support local governments with ZNE feasibility for municipal buildings, including assistance with identifying cost-effective ZNE strategies across municipal building types and providing recommendations for specific building retrofits or new construction.  This support is intended to encourage local governments to “lead by example” in implementing ZNE and, through that process, to help educate community members and demonstrate ZNE feasibility.
