Please note: Systems using propane or fuel oil for space or water heating are not eligible for incentives. All properties in BayREN territory are eligible for electrification adders.

Has <50 units and built pre-2010, or deed-restricted affordable property

1.5x increase to total rebate for all scopes of work

2X increase if scope includes wall insulation and/or window upgrades
 

B) Up to $500 reimbursable per unit for refrigerators, dishwashers, in-unit washing machines, lighting, in-unit duct sealing, in-unit duct insulation, low flow toilets, and/or smart thermostats

Rebate Calculation

The average incentive per unit for projects installed in 2025 was $3,000. Your incentive amount will depend on your property type, size (units), project scope and location. 


Here is an example of an electrification project at a 20-unit property that does not include burden zone incentives. This particular project served all 20 units with heat pump water heater and HVAC upgrades. 


Base Incentive = $10,000 ($500 rebate x 20 units) 


Central Heat Pump Water Heater Electrification Adder = $20,000 ($1,000/unitx 20 units) 


In Unit Heat Pump HVAC Electrification Adder = $30,000 ($1,500unitx 20 units) 


Total Rebate = $60,000
