Heat Pump Water Heater Trainings for Contractors

Get ready for Air District Rule 9-6. Build your skills. Grow your business.

Beginning January 1, 2027, Bay Area Air District Rule 9-6 will phase out the sale and installation of nitrogen oxide (NOx)–emitting water heaters, changing how residential replacement projects will be permitted and completed across the region.

To help contractors and their staffs prepare for this transition, BayREN is hosting in-person Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) trainings across the Bay Area from January 2026 through the end of 2027.
