As a companion to the BayREN Home+ program, single family homeowners can receive incentives for installing highly efficient electric space heating, water heating, clothes drying and induction cooking ranges individually or in combination with other building improvements regardless of whether they currently have gas or electric appliances. These incentives can also be used in conjunction with other local County, Community Choice Aggregation and utility rebates to maximize savings and create a cleaner environment inside the home and outside.
BayREN's Home Energy Score was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and provides a standardized method for quickly assessing a home’s envelope and major energy systems. The rating on a house is comparable to the MPG rating on a car. It rates the home on a scale of 1-10, based on how much energy the home is expected to use assuming standard operating conditions and occupant behavior. It also provides homeowners with suggestions for improving their homes' efficiency.
BayREN is planning on new programs for renters in early 2021. In the meantime, use this link to find out more about energy efficiency programs and resources to reduce your energy costs available to you now.
