Household Income Eligibility Verification

Customers can provide proof of their gross household income via one of two ways: Income Resources or Categorical Eligibility. Look through the details for each pathway below.

Income Resources

The customer or customer’s tenant may submit their most recent federal tax returns. If tax returns are not available, other proof of income can be provided.

Income sources needed to prove gross household income.

Tax returns (default) for all people living in the household who are over 18 years or older  Federal tax filing (Form 1040) with all schedules including W2s and 1099s   Most recent filling. After May, previous calendar year required (i.e. if it is 2025, returns for 2024 CY).

  • Pay stubs
  • Social security (SSA) income award letter/notice of action letter  
Most recent 3 months for pay stubs. Within the last 12 months for SSA.  
Categorical Eligibility

If the customer or customer’s tenant participates in one or more of the public assistance programs on the Categorical Eligibility List, they may submit documentation confirming their participation.
